“Brooke has always been a big fan of all things sparkly, pink, and Barbie, but to Brooke, PINK means something so much more.” -Tina
In 2013, Brooke was on tour on electric violin in a camp un rural Indiana with her mom when a lump appeared in her mom’s breast in under 24 hours. Brooke’s mom, Tina, was soon diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer, because they discovered a mass underneath the surface that was so large, it would not fit on the margins of the ultra sound screen. Tina went through months of chemotherapy, surgeries, and radiation, and she will be on medication for the rest of her life.

Brooke has since branded herself around the color PINK with the purpose of raising awareness. One Friday, Brooke wore pink pants on her college campus, and without thinking, every time someone complimented her pink pants, she said “It’s Pink Pants Friday, and I wear them in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness!” The name “Pink Pants Friday” stuck, and Brooke aims to wear something pink every Friday to remind men and women both to do a self exam, to be aware of the changes in their body, to help catch breast cancer in the early stages, with the hopes of avoiding the harsh treatments. Her efforts have been quite successful, and she has helped women catch Breast Cancer in the early stages with her efforts.
Brooke has volunteered at numerous cancer related events, as a speaker and performer, across the state of Kentucky, including the Corbin Cancer Survivors Dinners, the Triple Crown Concrete Breast Cancer Awareness Partnership Event, Louisville’s Pearls and Pumps Event, the Pink Prom, and Zumba Pinkathon. She has won several awards and scholarships, including the Miss Kentucky Quality of Life 2nd Runner Up, for her service work.
In 2021, Brooke started her entrepreneur journey by opening her own online store, with her own hand-drawn and digital designs, mostly offered in the color pink in a monochromatic style, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Brooke’s “Pink Pants Friday” shop is currently open on Etsy, and by popular demand from her fans of her “Brooke In Bunderland” social media accounts, featuring her 15 rescue bunnies, she now offers custom products, including her hand-drawn custom bunny mugs.
